The IntelliScan Elite Annotator Academy is a 12–week intensive training and certification program that transforms motivated African talent into world-class annotators and LLM evaluators, ready to work on high-stakes, regulated data projects.

The Elite Annotator Academy is built for aspiring digital talent young professionals and graduates who want stable, long-term digital work (not just gigs) and are genuinely excited about AI, fintech, and insurance; for governments, NGOs, and workforce programs running youth employment and digital skills initiatives, innovation hubs, and tech campuses that want to build real AI capacity, not just training on paper; and for banks, insurers, and global AI companies that need compliant, specialized annotation teams for regulated workflows, and RLHF, safety, and evaluation teams that can operate at scale without risking bad data.

The IntelliScan Elite Annotator Academy is our dedicated training and certification center for high-potential annotators across Africa.
We train learners to handle real, regulated data for:
Our goal is simple:
Create a trusted, compliant African AI workforce that can plug directly into IntelliScan projects, partner organizations, and global AI companies. IntelliScan Annotator Academy

Join Africa’s top 1% of annotation and AI evaluation talent. The Elite Annotator Academy is not a casual course it’s a selective, performance-driven pipeline into high-stakes work for banks, insurers, and global AI teams. Over 12 weeks, we sharpen your discipline, accuracy, and judgment until you operate at a standard fit for regulated data and Tier-1 clients, delivering production-grade work that serious institutions can trust.

IntelliScan operates as a strategic capacity partner, not a crowdsourcing vendor. The academy is engineered to produce annotators and QA leads who understand KYC, AML, insurance workflows, LLM safety, NDPR/GDPR, and audit-ready quality metrics from day one. Governments and programs gain a credible path from training to exportable AI talent. Banks, insurers, and AI companies gain production-grade teams that think in SLAs, gold sets, and risk controls—not just labels per hour. This is how you scale AI in Africa without compromising on standards.

Within the Elite Annotator Academy, every learner chooses a track that aligns with where they want to play: financial services and KYC, insurance and claims, or LLM and AI evaluation. Each path is designed around real workflows, real regulations, and real demand so by the time you’re certified.

In this track, you learn how real KYC and banking operations work behind the scenes. You’ll verify IDs and official documents—passports, NIN, driver’s licenses, voter cards—then validate OCR outputs and correct machine-extracted data so systems stay clean and audit-ready.
You’ll tag personal and sensitive information (PII) properly, label fraud patterns and risk indicators, and learn to work within NDPR/GDPR and CBN-aligned KYC rules. By the end, you’re not just clicking boxes—you’re thinking like a compliance-aware operator inside a modern financial institution..

This track drops you into the world of claims and risk. You’ll interpret insurance claims across motor, health, property, and liability, then annotate damage on vehicles and property using bounding boxes, polygons, and segmentation that models can actually learn from.
You’ll classify underwriting data, assign risk categories, and work with multimodal claims inputs—photos, adjuster reports, repair estimates, and claim forms. You’ll also learn to tag fraud patterns and suspicious claims, helping automate decision-making while keeping human-level judgment in the loop.

Here, you step directly into the frontier of AI. You’ll learn to classify text by sentiment, intent, topics, and entities; perform RLHF by ranking model responses, spotting hallucinations, and scoring quality; and detect bias, toxicity, and unsafe or unethical outputs before they reach users.
You’ll evaluate summarization, translation, creativity, and instruction-following, and build a practical understanding of prompt behavior and model limitations. This track is for people who want to sit at the intersection of AI quality, safety, and human judgment.
Across 12 weeks, every learner moves through a structured path—from digital basics to regulated data, then into a focused specialization and capstone. It’s designed so that by Week 12, you don’t just “understand annotation” you can operate at production standard for serious institutions.
In the first two weeks, we lock in your digital fundamentals. You’ll build confidence with computer literacy, productivity tools, and file management, while getting a clear introduction to AI, machine learning, and the role of annotators in real-world projects. Through hands-on exercises in text tagging, image labeling, and basic audio segmentation, you move from “I’ve used a computer” to “I can work comfortably inside a professional annotation environment.”
Weeks 3–4 are where you start thinking like a professional annotator. You learn how accuracy, consistency, and quality metrics are measured, how gold standards and inter-annotator agreement actually work, and how to handle ambiguity and edge cases without guessing. We also build discipline around communication, time management, and reliability because elite annotation is as much about mindset and habits as it is about tools.
Here, we step into the realities of regulated data. You’ll cover NDPR, GDPR, and global privacy frameworks, and learn to recognize and protect PII, PHI, and other forms of sensitive financial and government data. We train you on secure data handling, access control, and ethical principles, using case studies from banks, insurers, and public sector projects so it’s not theoretical—it’s grounded in how real compliance teams think.
From Week 7, you go deep. Each learner selects a specialization track—KYC & Financial Services, Insurance & Claims, or LLM & AI Evaluation—and spends four weeks inside that domain. You’ll work through track-specific labs, scenario-based projects, and structured assessments that mirror the way enterprise teams actually operate. This is where you start to look less like a generic annotator and more like a domain specialist.
The final phase is about execution and professionalism. You’ll complete a capstone project using real or simulated client datasets, go through QA review and feedback loops, and learn how to optimize your productivity and accuracy at scale. In parallel, we cover job readiness: CV and LinkedIn positioning, remote work professionalism, and how to present your experience to high-caliber teams. The journey ends with a final certification exam and practical evaluation.
We keep the admissions process simple, structured, and serious—just like the work.
Please reach us at contact@intelliscan.africa if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. We start with digital and annotation foundations in Weeks 1–2. You need basic computer familiarity, the ability to follow instructions, and real commitment to complete the 12-week program. We’ll train you up from there.
We operate a mix of sponsored cohorts (through governments, partners, and programs) and direct cohorts. Fees, scholarships, and sponsorship options are shared for each intake on the application page.
We don’t promise jobs—but we do build a real bridge to work. Top performers receive priority placement into IntelliScan projects and partner organizations, and all graduates get career support, references where appropriate, and access to ongoing opportunities.
Yes. We work with governments, NGOs, development partners, and enterprises to design tailored cohorts aligned to their languages, sectors, and workforce goals. Sponsored cohorts can be branded and structured around specific outcomes (e.g., financial services, insurance, or AI evaluation capacity).
The core academy is designed to be remote-first, combining structured online modules with live sessions. For certain regions and partnerships, we may host in-person labs or bootcamps in innovation hubs or partner centers.
